People

Grumeti Reserves employs over 700 staff, 97% of whom are Tanzanian, with more than two-thirds of the team recruited from neighbouring communities and villages within the Mara region.

Thanks to their passion and dedication, the Grumeti lodges have become world-recognised for excellence. It is the people of Grumeti who make the guest experience what it is, and the lodge visitor books are filled with personal references to employees that have made a heart-felt impact on guests during their stay.

Grumeti’s human resources objective has always been to create a sense of unity and strong team spirit, where every staff member understands that they have a key role to play.

Welfare and wellness

Staff villages surrounded by nature, providing comfortable accommodation and relaxing recreational facilities, nutritional meals and a strong sense of community

Many of Grumeti’s employees live on site and the company has worked hard to create comfortable staff villages, with well-equipped accommodation and a range of recreational facilities, focused on wellness and relaxation when staff are off duty. Gym workouts, yoga sessions, park runs and soccer matches are on offer every week and many staff choose to join these activities.
